the waiting is the hardest part.
simeon waited for the consolation of israel
[was it really 400 years of silence?]
filled brim-ful by the Spirit of God
his own eyes saw salvation,
light and glory worthy of the wait
for what do i pause?
there's the traffic and lines,
interminable minutes on hold with verizon tech
can i wait for what matters?
rushing through daze
an unrighteous discontent grows
joy missed for the hurry and the wishing
call me to stillness
teach me to wait
to be
to know

let me linger at the doorway of Wisdom:
"For those who find me find life."
shared with the gypsy mama's five minute friday.
