i was sitting in MOPS last week, and all over the room, moms were holding tiny babies who are younger than dylan was an entire year ago. has it really been that long?
at fourteen months, dylan doesn't takes more than a few walking steps at a time, but she is BUSY and still manages to cover a lot of ground. she's definitely a climber, like her daddy. jim turned his back on her for a second yesterday and she was standing on her little round chair!
jim affectionately refers to dylan as "Destructo!" since she loves pulling down and emptying everything she can find: bookshelves, cupboards, toy bins, our cd rack, the recycling...
almost every day dylan is saying something new. hi, bye, baby, mama and daddy are still her favorites, and she's added milk, all gone, all done, boy, bird, ball, duck, bag, up, down, more, please, yes, yeah, NO!, an occasional "thank you" and recently lots of "uh-oh!" the other day, she pet sydney and told her, "good girl." they are so sweet together:)

oh my goodness she has gotten so much bigger since i saw her last! she is so precious! keegan, the 1 year old i watch is also a climber. i have to watch him closely. his mom just told me yesterday that she turned her head for a minute and he managed to climb up from the floor, to the chair, to their computer desk, and then proceeded to stand up on it.
So cute! Now I feel all of this pressure to get Sam to do that in one week! ACK!
I can't believe how big her vocabulary is! I couldn't even get Sam to say Mama if his life depended on it :)
kids are all SO different, and girls i think tend to be quicker in speech. no pressure! just enjoy the moments:)
Awww she's so cute. I have a climber too and my nickname for him is Destructor! He's a real daredevil and runs around our house creating chaos.
Sounds like our LO's are really similar even down to still nursing :-)
Yes, it is amazing the difference between boys and girls - Evan's been walking since 11 months and yet has nowhere near the vocabulary of Dylan! :)
Thanks for the post. I think I"ve played it 7x! I'm so glad you found your camera. Kids are all different. You and your siblings were all very verbal very early and entertained us with a variety of mime responses to "so big" "hi" "bye" peek a boo, blowing kisses, this little of mine, etc. Tiffany would always delight when she came to see your whole repertoire; but to put learning styles and timing in perspective, Einstein didn't talk until he was 3. Love, Mom
What a vocabulary and counting too!
